CROWN POINT, Ind. — Amazon’s next Northwest Indiana warehouse is no longer just a lease announcement. The Times of Northwest Indiana reported Oct. 9 that a new Amazon facility is under construction on 101st Avenue, just south of the company’s Mississippi Street building — the third Amazon warehouse over 1 million square feet along Interstate 65 in the Region, the paper said.

That matches the Venture Park 65 project Amazon announced in September: a 1.2 million-square-foot fulfillment center with 500 full-time jobs and operations targeted for 2027, Inside INdiana Business and InkFree News reported.

What city papers show next

The Crown Point Plan Commission put Venture Park 65 on its October calendar. A Notice Registry posting dated Oct. 6 lists items 26-44 (secondary plat) and 26-45 (site development) for an industrial warehouse at 1305 E. 101st Ave., with a Zoom hearing noted and the next regular meeting Oct. 26. Region N3 has not independently confirmed the Oct. 6 hearing result.

Amazon’s September release, carried by Inside INdiana Business and InkFree News, said the Crown Point building will take oversized products from vendors and manufacturers before sending them to downstream fulfillment centers. Kyle DeGuilio, Amazon’s senior regional manager of economic development, said the site checked boxes for infrastructure, workforce, and customer access. Crown Point Mayor Pete Land called the I-65 location “a prime location for this business development.”

Spokesperson Andre Woodson told Inside INdiana Business that hiring typically starts one to two months before operations. Full-time Indiana operations roles average nearly $24 an hour with day-one medical, dental, and vision coverage, Amazon said in that package.

Corridor context

Region N3 previously filed the September lease as Amazon leases Crown Point fulfillment hub, pledges 500 jobs. The Oct. 9 Times package deepens that story into construction on 101st — not a second lease announce.

The same I-65 spine already carries Amazon’s Mississippi Street facility and John Deere’s 1.2 million-square-foot parts hub near Lowell. This piece notes those earlier builds only as the corridor Amazon is adding to — warehouse and logistics payroll, not the Region’s data-center or GenCo power tracks.

Region N3 will update on a Plan Commission vote, Crown Point job listings, or a city construction/tax calendar for the pad.
